Chicken and Egg App
Chicken and egg is the state of being in a dilemma of which of two things came first or which is the cause and which the effect.
This is the state that Oystro is in. Can Oystro be the cause for more users to realise the need for it as an effect or would more users be the cause for Oystro to be used (downloaded) as an effect.
For Oystro to be truly appreciated by users it needs to be downloaded and present in all their contact’s phones. The benefits of a meeting planner app such as being able to send and receive meeting requests, accepting and declining meeting requests, RSVP – knowing who’s in and who’s out, updating the calendar and much more can only be experienced if everyone has Oystro on their phones.
When Oystro is launched, it will be a nail biting and nerve racking experience for us to wait and watch how it will perform in terms of downloads and subsequent usage.
Will it is be that potential users will be actively searching for such an app? Will our ASO perform to show us up there to such an user? Will the user immediate share his new found app with his contacts so that he can reap the benefits between him and his contacts? Will we acquire enough users soon enough to get feedback to improve the app and sustain the efforts?
These are questions that don’t even dwell into the revenue model for Oystro. These are existential questions of whether people will at all download Oystro.
But we are here to bell the cat, bite the bullet and what not to just explore this unpredictable situation with the hope that we get millions of users who will patronise our genuine intent to create something of value for them as we go from MVP launch to future versions.
